The Sleekit Beasties are a pop/modern ceilidh wedding band in Scotland Formed in 2011 due to the band studying together in Edinburgh. Chris had to design and run a functional business, and the Sleekit Beasties were born! Chris got an A+, and we've been playing weddings and events ever since.
The 4-piece play a range of music spanning from 60's rock, 70's soul, 80's dance, 90's britpop and top40 hits from the current era. The Beasties are equipped with a fiddle player and pride themselves on seamlessly switching from floor-fillers to live traditional ceilidh dancing - complete with experienced caller and demonstrators. They explain and demonstrate all the dances live, which allows them to interact with guests who aren't as familiar with the moves, and have even played non English-speaking weddings and events and still got the Gay Gordons up and running. It's impossible to ignore the explosive movement on stage which fills the room with energy.
The Sleekits arrive on their own time to set up, wear full kilts and are happy to learn first dances. Familiar with the majority of the wedding venues across Scotland, the Beasties communicate with your venue to arrange load-in and logistics so you can relax, with one less thing to organise!
When you book The Sleekit Beasties, you are really getting two bands!
This year The Sleekit Beasties were the finalists in the Scottish Entertainment Awards in the "Best Wedding Band" category so, as you can imagine, they're in high demand - to avoid disappointment, book early!
The Sleekit Beasties consist of:
